As one of the biggest projects I have built yet, Good Journey is the culmination of over a year’s work for good friend & colleague Nat Taplin. Good Journey is a publicly funded project aiming to promote car-free travel to visitors of attractions throughout the UK. Each attraction that signs up has its own curated page of information with detailed travel info, custom mapping & a route planner built using Google’s transit directions API.

Users are able to search for places using keywords, filtering or zooming in on the map view. There is also a blog incorporated with the search results to show other things you can see and do without the need for a car.

The site itself is built with wordpress with a heavily customised CMS allowing Nat and his team to add new attractions easily as they sign up to the venture. It went live in January 2018 and has so far been received very well with funding in place for the foreseeable future.
