Charming Small Hotels offers a handpicked directory of unique, characterful hotels across the UK and Europe. The new site needed to echo the charm and individuality of the featured properties while providing a better experience for users browsing and filtering accommodation options.
Commissioned by Peacock Computers, I designed and developed a bespoke WordPress theme that highlights hotels through clear imagery, simplified navigation, and mobile-first layouts. The refreshed design brings consistency and warmth, aligning with the brand’s tone while modernising its functionality.
A key part of the project was reworking the filtering and categorisation system, helping users easily browse by location, feature, or hotel type. The new structure also supports future scalability, with templates built for editorial content, regional guides, and partner listings.
The result is a cleaner, faster, and more intuitive site that continues to grow as a trusted resource for independent travel.
